Underlying objectives of VIPACFood project, are increase the environmental sustainability of the processing industries and develop actions with high social and economic benefits.


During the project will be:


  • Developed and tested post-harvest treatment technologies safe and cost-effective, making it possible to reduce waste, improve food safety and shelf life of the products;
  • Studied solutions for the reduction of the amount of food packaging;
  • Enhanced the by-products of fruit processing and wastes of algal biomass;
  • Extracted active and functional components with high added value;
  • Created innovative products with high stability and marketability.
