Salerno’s Excellence in the USA: Daniele Carullo Awarded at the World Congress on Electroporation

The World Congress on Electroporation and Pulsed Electric Fields in Biology, Medicine, and Food & Environmental Technologies concluded with a prestigious recognition for the University of Salerno. The event, held in Norfolk (Virginia, USA) from September 24 to 28, 2017, serves as the premier global meeting point for researchers and experts specializing in high-intensity pulsed electric fields.

The “Young Investigator” Award

A centerpiece of the event was the “Young Investigator” competition, designed to celebrate innovation and talent among the next generation of researchers.

Among the winners in the “Food, Biotechnology and Environment” category, Daniele Carullo, a second-year PhD student in Chemistry at the University of Salerno, stood out. Conducting his research within the DIIn (Department of Industrial Engineering) and ProdAl laboratories, Carullo impressed the international jury with his work titled: “PEF-assisted green solvent extraction of high-added value compounds from agri-food by-products”, showcasing the high scientific caliber of research conducted at our university.
